WellStar
Members can earn up to $300 per fiscal year by participating in qualifying preventative health activities.
Life Scan
Members and eligible dependents age 18 and older receive a confidential, no-cost, annual health and wellness screening including physical, fitness, and mental wellness evaluations.
Fitness and Nutrition Support
Members have free access to two on-site fitness centers. Dedicated wellness staff are also available to provide one-on-one guidance and support to help members reach their fitness and nutritional goals.
Resiliency and Wellness Program
Members have free access to confidential mental health counseling services through Tampa Bay Psychology Associates. Services available 24/7.

Florida Retirement System (FRS)
PCSO participates in the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Members choose one of two plans:
- Pension Plan: Guaranteed monthly retirement income
- Investment Plan: Portable retirement savings you control
Both plans help you build a strong financial future.
Deferred Compensation (457(b)) Plan
Members can also save extra for retirement through a tax-advantaged 457(b) savings plan for additional long-term financial security.

Education Assistance Program
PCSO offers tuition reimbursement of up to $3,000 per fiscal year for eligible colleges, universities, and approved certification programs. Covered expenses include tuition, books, and required course or certification-related fees. Full-time and part-time members are eligible after successfully completing one year of employment. To remain eligible, participants must maintain a grade of “C” or higher.
Training & Professional Development
PCSO’s Training Division provides ongoing training for recruits and current members to maintain and enhance professional skills. Members have access to agency-sponsored training, external courses, and job-related conferences nationwide.
Spanish Language Program
PCSO offers a free in-house Spanish Language Program for sworn and non-sworn members to improve communication and support community engagement. The training builds practical, law enforcement focused Spanish skills to enhance safety and reduce reliance on translation services.
Sheriff's Leadership Institute (SLI)
PCSO’s Sheriff’s Leadership Institute provides leadership development and career advancement opportunities for sworn and non-sworn members. The program focuses on mentoring, promotional readiness, performance development, and building the agency’s future leadership pipeline.
Full-time and part-time members, along with eligible dependents up to age 26, qualify to participate in PCSO-sponsored insurance plans.

Already covered under another medical plan? Full-time members who opt out of PCSO medical coverage can receive $96 per month.
After 25 years of service with PCSO, members may continue agency-sponsored insurance coverage at employee rates for themselves and eligible dependents into retirement.
