Major Nick Lazaris

Major Nick Lazaris joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Patrol Operations Bureau. He has served in the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program and the Marine Enforcement Unit. As a supervisor, he managed the Special Services and Events Units and the Strategic Enforcement Section, and commanded the Special Services Section, Special Operations Division, Central District Station, the Major Accident Investigation Team, and the Crowd Management Team.

He has a master’s in business administration from Louisiana State University and bachelor’s in public safety administration from St. Petersburg College. He is a graduate of the 84th session of the Senior Management Institute for Policing of the Police Executive Research Forum, and holds certification as a Florida Professional Emergency Manager from the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Suncoast Safety Council.
