Major Matt Wroe

Major Matt Wroe joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2005 and oversees the Investigative Operations Bureau, which includes the Criminal Investigations Division and the Narcotics Division. He has been on the STAR Team, and was a detective, corporal, and lieutenant in Narcotics, as well as a patrol sergeant, Administrative Investigations Division sergeant, Community Policing sergeant, Detention Investigations Unit sergeant, Crimes Against Persons lieutenant, and Criminal Investigations Division captain. He earned his associate’s degree in criminal justice from Hillsborough Community College, his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from Columbia Southern University, and has taken part in the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police. He served six years as an Army Reservist, achieving the rank of sergeant.
