Major Deanna Carey

Major Deanna Carey joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 1999 and oversees the Judicial Operations Bureau, which includes the Criminal Court Security Section, the Court Supervision Section, and the Civil Court Security and Enforcement Section. She has been on the STAR Team, and was a Field Training Officer, a Crimes Against Children detective, an Administrative Investigations Division sergeant, an Office of the Chief Deputy administrative sergeant, Strategic Planning Bureau commander, and Professional Standards Bureau commander. She has a bachelor’s in criminal justice studies from Florida Gulf Coast University and is a graduate of both the International Association of Chiefs of Police Women’s Leadership Institute and the Florida State University Certified Public Manager program.
