Detectives Investigate Multiple Vehicle Burglaries to Unlocked Vehicles in Dunedin (24-078)

PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives assigned to the Burglary & Pawn Unit are investigating reports of multiple vehicle burglaries in Dunedin.


On Thursday, June 13, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Palm Boulevard and Edythe Drive in Dunedin after reports of multiple vehicle burglaries in the neighborhood. Deputies learned there were over fifteen reported burglaries throughout the night, and, in each incident, the vehicles’ doors were left unlocked. Valuables, such as cameras, pocketknives, and bank checks were taken from the vehicles. The suspects fled the area prior to the deputy’s arrival.


The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind residents to lock vehicle doors and never leave valuables in your vehicle. If you must leave your firearm in your vehicle, secure it in a lockable compartment, and always lock your doors. Never leave a gun in your car overnight.
