Captain Maurice McCloud

Captain McCloud joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 and is the commander of the Special Operations Division which includes the Canine Unit, Marine and Environmental Lands Unit, Flight Unit, Field Training Unit, the Airport Unit, Special Events Unit, and the Youth Education Section which encompasses School Resources Officers, Guardians, Cadets, and other youth-focused programs. He has been assigned various roles including Administrative Investigations Division lieutenant, patrol shift commander, patrol administrative lieutenant, Crime Prevention sergeant, Economic Crimes Unit detective, and School Resource Deputy. Captain McCloud is a UNITED co-chairperson. He has an associate degree and a bachelor’s degree from St. Petersburg College and is a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Senior Leadership Program.
