Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) Investigates Serious Vehicle Crash in Oldsmar (26-040)

OLDSMAR- Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a serious vehicle crash in Oldsmar.

According to investigators, on April 30, 2026, at approximately 4:42pm, 27-year-old Jayanna Clark, was driving eastbound on Tampa Road in a 2015 Nissan Altima. As Clark was approaching the intersection of St. Petersburg Drive, 52-year-old Christy Proctor, driving a 2021 Tesla Model 3, was facing westbound in the turn lane on Tampa Road, to go south onto St. Petersburg Drive.  

Investigators say both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time and collided in the middle.

Proctor was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Clark and two juvenile passengers, a 6-year-old female and a 4-year-old male, were also transported to the hospital. Clark was transported with minor injuries, the 4-year-old male with serious injuries, and the 6-year-old female with life-threatening injuries.

Speed appears to be a factor in this crash. Impairment does not appear to be a factor.

The investigation continues.
