Detectives Investigate Inmate Death; Death Does Not Appear Suspicious In Nature (25-010)

PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating the death of 45-year-old LaFerrell Williams.
Detectives say Williams was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on November 19, 2024, by the Pinellas Park Police Department for Murder in the First Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in Meth, Trafficking in Fentanyl and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
According to detectives, on February 3, 2025, at approximately 8:28 p.m., Williams was transported to the hospital for medical reasons. He was pronounced deceased at 8:57 p.m.
At this point in the investigation, detectives have found no evidence that Williams was involved in any physical altercations or sustained any injuries while incarcerated at the jail.
Williams’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation continues.
