Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Honors Fallen Police Canines (26-017)
PINELLAS COUNTY – On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit will be hosting the annual K-9 Memorial Service at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Pet Cemetery, located at 1750 Curlew Road in Palm Harbor.
During the service, the K-9 Unit will be honoring retired canines who have passed away. There are over 100 service dogs that are currently interred in the Memory Gardens. At this year’s memorial service, two Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office canines will be added to the memorial and remembered.
- Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office canine “Reggie” survived by his handler, Lieutenant Mike Kilian
- Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office canine “Hector” survived by his handler, retired Deputy Brad Byers
The services will be attended by current and former K-9 handlers and their canine partners.
The service will be open to the public and media is invited to cover the service.
