Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) Investigates Fatal Vehicle Crash in Seminole (26-065)
SEMINOLE - Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a fatal vehicle crash in Seminole.
According to investigators, on July 13, 2026, at approximately 6:02 P.M., 18-year-old Lily Preston was driving a 2021 Genesis GV80 southbound in the center lane on Seminole Boulevard. As Lily was approaching 50th Avenue North, 85-year-old James Crane III, driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, was in the north turn lane on Seminole Boulevard to turn west onto 50th Avenue. James failed to yield and turned in front of Lily, resulting in a collision with heavy damage to the passenger side of the PT Cruiser where 20-year-old Dacosta Crane was riding in the front passenger seat.
James was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 6:33 P.M. Dacosta was transported to the hospital where he remains on life support. Lily was medically evaluated on scene and did not sustain any injuries.
Impairment and speed do not appear to be factors in this case.
Next of Kin has been notified.
