CLEARWATER – Pinellas County Schools Superintendent Kevin Hendrick and Interim Police Chief Ben McBride announce the death of Pinellas County Schools Police Sergeant Greg Graff.

On July 30, 2025, Sergeant Greg Graff died at approximately 4:14 p.m. after suffering from a medical emergency. Sergeant Graff was on duty at Clearwater High School, located at 1951 Gulf to Bay Boulevard, after participating in the Active Assailant Exercise earlier in the day. Sergeant Graff was participating in additional indoor classroom training when he collapsed and was transported to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased shortly after.

Sergeant Graff was 61 years old and worked for Pinellas County Schools Police for 7 years. He previously served at the City of Douglasville Police Department in Georgia for 29 years. Sergeant Graff is survived by his wife, three children, and six grandchildren.

Sergeant Greg Graff will be escorted from Morton Plan Hospital, located at 300 Pinellas Street in Clearwater, to the Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home in Tarpon Springs. The funeral home is located at 701 E. Tarpon Avenue in Tarpon Springs.

The procession will depart at 7:00 p.m. from Morton Plant Hospital and travel northbound on Fort Harrison Avenue to Drew Street. Eastbound on Drew Street to US Highway 19, northbound on US Highway 19 to Tarpon Avenue. Please expect intermittent traffic delays between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
