Aveda Institute Student Arrested for Written Threats to Commit a Mass Shooting (26-003)

CLEARWATER – On January 5, 2026, deputies arrested an Aveda Institute student for Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.

Deputies say 18-year-old Addison Gass posted a photograph of herself with a text overlay that stated “i’m abt to shoot up this school” and “they done pissed me tf off”.

When contact was made with Gass, she admitted to the post and stated she was frustrated over a dress code violation. Gass was arrested and charged with one count of Written Threats to Commit a Mass Shooting.
