PINELLAS COUNTY – On February 20, 2024, detectives assigned to the Threat Management Division arrested a Pinellas County Schools student for Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.
Detectives say 14-year-old Amisadai Esparza-Martinez sent a message to another student via Snapchat stating, “I'm shooting school up tomorrow.” Esparza-Martinez attends Safety Harbor Middle School.
Detectives made contact with Esparza-Martinez, who admitted to sending the message but stated it was a joke. Esparza-Martinez was arrested and charged with one count of Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.
