PINELLAS COUNTY - On December 5, 2023, detectives from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, along with the St. Petersburg Police Department and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, completed a lengthy investigation that led to the arrest of 24 suspects.
In January of 2023, detectives launched an investigation, “Operation Dirty Ink” regarding a drug trafficking organization in Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area. During this time, the organization acquired and distributed approximately 400 kilograms of cocaine, 50 kilograms of fentanyl, and 20 pounds of methamphetamine. Yesterday, detectives arrested 24 suspects involved in the organization and seized 12 kilograms of cocaine, 3 kilograms of fentanyl, $237,000 cash, and multiple firearms.
Sheriff Gualtieri stated, “There's about a million people that live in Pinellas County, and those three kilos yesterday could have killed every man, woman, and child in Pinellas County - and a time in a half.”
