PINELLAS COUNTY – On December 2, 2023, deputies arrested a Pinellas County Schools student for Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.
According to deputies, 13-year-old Kendrick Meadows sent messages in a group chat, via Snapchat, to another student regarding participating in a school shooting that would take place at Carwise Middle School. Deputies say Meadows then stated he would shoot the other student first if he reported the incident to anyone. The student who received the messages notified his parents, who contacted law enforcement.
Deputies made contact with Meadows at his residence, where he admitted to sending the messages, but told deputies the threat was a joke. At the conclusion of the investigation, Meadows was taken into custody and charged with Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting. He was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.
