Speed and Aggressive Driving Enforcement
PINELLAS COUNTY – Today, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies, in conjunction with several partner agencies, joined together to conduct a county-wide operation on US Highway 19 to combat speed and aggressive driving.
The participating agencies included:
Clearwater Police Department, St. Petersburg Police Department, Pinellas Park Police Department, Largo Police Department, Tarpon Springs Police Department, and Florida Highway Patrol. Participating Pasco County agencies include New Port Richey Police Department, Port Richey Police Department and Florida Highway Patrol.
The operation began at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, and ended at 3:00 p.m.
The county-wide operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office on-going commitment to deter speeding and aggressive driving along US Highway 19, which has been identified as one of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7’s high crash corridors. Along with the FDOT Target Zero campaign, deputies focused on influencing dangerous driver behavior before serious or fatal crashes occurred. Participating agencies focused on traffic infractions along the US 19 corridor in their jurisdictions from St. Petersburg to the Pasco County line.
