PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating the death of 39-year-old inmate Christopher Mobsby.
Detectives say Mobsby was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on October 30, 2022, after being arrested for Trespassing and Possession of Fentanyl.
Detectives learned that on November 2, 2022, Mobsby was transported to a local hospital for medical reasons. Mobsby’s condition declined, and on November 5, 2022 at approximately 11:35 p.m., he was pronounced deceased.
At this point in the investigation, Mobsby’s death does not appear to be suspicious in nature and the investigation is ongoing.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will work to determine the cause and manner of death.
Mobsby’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation continues.
