PINELLAS COUNTY - The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Cadet Unit 900 participated in the 2022 Florida Association of Police Explorers State Competition. Cadet Unit 900 participated in scenario competitions against several other law enforcement explorer posts from across the state of Florida. The competitions took place from July 16th, 2022 to July 23rd, 2022. The competition was held in Lake Mary, Florida.

The state scenario team comprised of Cadet Lieutenant Nylah Rosario, Corporal Bo Brady, Curtis Yancey, Vlad Dianiak, Michael Lopez, Abdullah Khaleel, Mason Gamache, Giordana Messano and Lexi Matthews.

Cadet Lieutenant Nylah Rosari was awarded the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) Scholarship. This is a highly competitive program, run by a team of law enforcement training instructors. Candidates must have demonstrated high academic standards and good citizenship to be considered.

Cadets also participated in the firearms competition to include individual, team and steel target shooting. Individual shooting trophies were awarded to:

Cadet Corporal Bo Brady for 1st Place in the Sharp Shooter Division and 1st Place in the Steel Winners

Cadet Mason Gamache for 1st Place in the Tyro Division

Cadet Abdullah Khaleel for 2nd Place in the Tyro Division

Cadet Curtis Yancey for 3rd Place in the Tyro Division

Cadet Lieutenant Nylah Rosari, Corporal Bo Brady, Cadet Curtis Yancey and Cadet Abdullah Khaleel for 2nd Place in the 767 3X Team Shooting.

Additionally, Cadet Lieutenant Nylah Rosario, Corporal Bo Brady and Cadets Lopez, Khaleel and Matthew’s were awarded 2nd Place in Drill Team.

We are very proud of the efforts and accomplishments of Cadet Unit 900. During this competition, they prepared and performed as a law enforcement team.
