21-124 Major Accident Investigation Team Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash in St. Pete Beach

PINELLAS COUNTY – On Saturday, November 20, 2021 at approximately 10:48 p.m., deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle in St. Pete Beach.

According to investigators, 57-year-old Kenan Rader was travelling northbound on Gulf Boulevard in a white Ford pick-up truck. 45-year-old Eric Babb was travelling southbound on Gulf Boulevard riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Deputies say Rader was making a left turn into a parking lot at 3848 Gulf Boulevard when the two collided. Witnesses say the Babb was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.

Babb was transported to Palms of Pasadena Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Next of kin has been notified and speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
