PINELLAS COUNTY – Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit have identified the shooting victim as 29-year-old Clifford Coston III.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation remains open and active at this time.

PINELLAS COUNTY- Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating a homicide in Unincorporated St. Petersburg. 

On March 15, 2021, at approximately 8:01 p.m., deputies responded to a residence near the intersection on 45th Avenue North and 39th Street North for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived they observed a black sedan crashed into a fence. A male victim was found inside suffering from a gunshot wound.

Detectives say the victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s identity is not being released until the next of kin has been notified.  

The suspect is described as a light skinned Black or Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie and was last seen running westbound on 45th Avenue North.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
