Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team investigate a fatal crash in Dunedin.
According to investigators, 30-year-old Ashley Mckiernan was travelling Southbound on Achieva Way from Main Street. For an unknown reason, she left the roadway and struck a tree in the center median.
She was transported to Bayfront Hospital with life-threatening injuries where she underwent surgery. She was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Next of kin has been notified.
Impairment appears to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation continues.
