What:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Pinellas County man for Capital Sexual Battery on a Child Less Than 12-years-old.

When:
The investigation began on April 2, 2020 and the suspect was arrested at about 6:18 p.m. on April 20, 2020.

Where:
The suspect was arrested at 4933 Trinidad Drive in Wesley Chapel.

Why/How:
Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested 38-year-old Timothy Massey for Capital Sexual Battery on a Child Less Than 12-years-old.

Detectives began their investigation on April 2, 2020, after they learned the victim sent a letter to a family member about on-going sexual abuse.

According to detectives, the victim was shown pornographic videos and was sexually battered by Massey over a period of five years. At the time of the abuse, the victim was under the age of 12.

During the course of the investigation, detectives attempted to locate Massey for questioning, but learned he fled the area.

On April 17, 2020 detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Massey.  

On April 20, 2020 at approximately 6:18 p.m., Massey was arrested by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office on the active Pinellas County warrant.

Massey was booked into the Pasco County Jail and will later be transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation continues.
