What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has received $140,000 in contracts from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for DUI and Speed Enforcement.
When:
The projects began on November 21, 2019, and will run through September 30, 2020.
Where:
The projects will be implemented throughout Pinellas County, in areas known for impaired driving, speeding, and aggressive driving.
Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has received $140,000 in contracts from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for DUI and Speed Enforcement.
The contracts will be utilized to fund DUI, speed, and aggressive driving enforcement in Pinellas County.
From November 21, 2019 through September 30, 2020, Pinellas deputies will be conducting “saturation patrols” throughout Pinellas County. During the saturation patrols, deputies will be searching for impaired drivers, speeders, and aggressive drivers among other traffic violations.
The locations of these saturation patrols will be in areas known for impaired driving activity and traffic violations, dependent upon activities occurring in the community.
The saturation patrols will supplement the quarterly multi-jurisdictional DUI Wolf Packs.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will continue the DUI and speed enforcement throughout the year.
