What:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in “Operation Knot Lit,” a Florida Sheriff’s Task Force operation that will target those who fail to comply with the statutory requirements regarding driving and boating under the influence.
When:
“Operation Knot Lit” will be conducted over a 5-day period from July 3, 2019, to July 7, 2019.
Where:
The operation will be conducted county-wide.
Why/How:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in “Operation Knot Lit,” a Florida Sheriff’s Task Force operation that will target those who fail to comply with the statutory requirements regarding driving and boating under the influence.
“Operation Knot Lit” will be conducted from July 3, 2019, to July 7, 2019.
Deputies from the Marine Unit, Traffic Unit, DUI Unit, and the Special Events Unit will participate in the 5-day operation conducting enforcement and education, ensuring those traveling on land and water are in compliance with applicable state laws.
The goal of the operation is to create safer roads and waterways for residents and visitors in Pinellas County.
The Florida Sheriff’s Association will conduct a formal news conference at the conclusion of the operation to release the state-wide results.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will continue with DUI enforcement throughout the year.
