Sheriff Bob Gualtieri has assigned Stephenie Tatum and Kavontae Smalls to the Public Information Office as Public Information Specialists.

When:
Tatum and Smalls’ assignments to the Public Information Office were effective on Monday, May 2, 2016 and Monday, May 23, 2016, respectively. 

Where:
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Public Information Office is located in the Sheriff’s Administration Building at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Why/How:
Stephenie Tatum joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2016.
Prior to assuming her duties as a Public Information Specialist, Tatum worked as a Public Affairs Specialist at Fort Bragg, North Carolina for more than ten years. Prior to her public affairs work, Tatum served as a photojournalist in the U.S. Army.

Tatum has a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies/Communications from Thomas Edison State University and an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College.

Kavontae Smalls joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2016.

Prior to assuming his duties as a Public Information Specialist, Smalls worked as the Public Relations Director for The Salvation Army in Mobile and Baldwin counties in Alabama.  Prior to his public relations work, Smalls worked as a television news reporter throughout Northwest Florida (WEAR-TV & WJHG-TV) and Southwest Ohio (WKEF/WRGT-TV).     

Smalls has a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications/Journalism from The University of West Florida.
