Deputies responded to the park at approximately 10:49 a.m. on March 8, 2016.
How/Why:
On March 8, 2016 at about 10:49 a.m., deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the War Veterans Memorial Park located at 9600 Bay Pines Boulevard, regarding a report that skeletal remains were found in the park.
Detectives say that the skeletal remains are human, however, the identity and the gender of the deceased are not immediately clear. A death investigation is currently underway.
