Why/How:
On Friday, January 15, 2016, Deputy Ural Darling was alerted to an unresponsive adult female at Osceola Middle School.
According to deputies, the female was meeting with staff of the school and began complaining of being short of breath when she arrived.
Within a short time of her sitting down, the female went unresponsive and had no pulse.
Deputy Darling, with the assistance of school staff, performed CPR and utilized an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) until relieved by EMS from Seminole Fire Rescue.
The female, identified as 55-year-old Jacqueline Romano was transported to Largo Medical Center for treatment. She is currently alert and responsive.
The quick action and efforts of Deputy Darling and school staff, likely saved Jacqueline’s life.
