Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a St. Petersburg teenage boy for sexual battery on a 2-year-old female victim .
According to detectives, their investigation began on Friday, November 13, 2015, after the 2-year-old female victim was brought to a local hospital with complaints of genital pain.
Detectives say that through interviews and various investigative techniques, they were able to identify and locate the suspect, 15-year-old, John Platt.
Detectives interviewed Platt and he was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a child less than 12-years-old.
Platt was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center without further incident.
The investigation continues.
