Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a two vehicle crash in Indian Rocks Beach. The crash occurred on Wednesday April 8, 2015 at approximately 5:00 PM.
According to deputies, Mary Thomas, the driver of a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound over the Indian Rocks Causeway and struck the right concrete barrier. The Altima then rebounded toward the median side swiping a 2013 Buick Verano driven by Lance Ware.
Both vehicles then traveled through the median where the Altima struck a tree. The Buick came to rest in the eastbound lanes of the Indian Rocks Causeway.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The investigation continues.
