What:
Deputies have released the results of the overnight countywide DUI Wolf Pack.
When:
Pinellas County deputies along with various local law enforcement agencies conducted the countywide DUI Wolf Pack from 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 through 5:00 a.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015.
Where:
The DUI Wolf Pack was conducted throughout Pinellas County.
Why/How:
In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries and deaths, Pinellas County deputies along with Tarpon Springs Police Department, Clearwater Police Department, Largo Police Department, St. Petersburg Police Department and the Florida Highway Patrol conducted a DUI Wolf Pack operation in Pinellas County overnight.
The results are as follows:
Criminal charges:
14 DUIs
3 Refusal to submit to testing
1 Violation of Business purposes only license (restricted for prior DUI conviction)
1 Driving While License Suspended or Revoked with knowledge
2 No valid driver’s license
1 Resist arrest without violence
2 Possession of marijuana
1 Possession of drug paraphernalia
Citations:
1 Driving While License Suspended or Revoked with knowledge citations
2 No valid driver’s license citations
21 Speeding citations
1 Child restraint citation
2 Seatbelt citations
66 Citations for other moving and non-moving violations.
The operation was part of Sheriff's Office on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of a Wolf Pack is to educate drivers and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be conducting DUI Wolf Packs and DUI Checkpoints continuously throughout the year.
