What:
Detectives assigned to the Burglary/Pawn Unit have arrested a Dunedin couple for Burglary, Cruelty To Animals and Child Abuse.

When:
Deputies responded to the reported Burglary on January 26, 2015 at 8:19 PM.

Where:
The incident occurred at 1593 Mary Lane, Tarpon Springs.

Why/How:
Deputies received a Burglary call on January 26, 2015 at 8:19 PM where the victims, Alan and Laura Adams, reported the house has been broken into, their IPad stolen and their dog  was deceased. 

Through various investigative techniques Burglary/Pawn detectives were able to determine the victims’ son, Daniel E. Adams and his girlfriend, Lauren M. Curran, had committed the burglary.

During interviews with detectives Daniel admitted he and Lauren drove to his parents’ home, with a child, with the intention of killing the dog, Daisy.  They committed the burglary and stole the IPad in an attempt to make his parents believe someone else had committed the crime. Daniel and Laura both confirmed Laura killed the dog with an intravenous needle filled with an unknown medication. 

Daniel and Laura were arrested on January 28, 2015 and charged with Burglary, Cruelty To Animals and Child Abuse.
