Shannon Lockheart
Shannon Lockheart joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 as Associate General Counsel, and was promoted to General Counsel in 2013. She manages the agency’s legal and risk staff. She graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree and the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly John Marshall Law School) with a Juris Doctorate. After graduating law school, she began her legal career at the Office of the State Attorney, Sixth Judicial Circuit. She was an Assistant State Attorney for five years until leaving for private practice at the law firm of Abbey, Adams, Byelick, & Kiernan. In 2004 she returned to public service as an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor for the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution. Three years later, Shannon worked for the County Attorney’s Office in Pinellas County before beginning her career at the sheriff’s office.
