Captain Melvin Jackson
Captain Melvin Jackson joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2006 and is the North District Station commander, SWAT Team commander, and UNITED Council Chairperson. He has been Patrol Support Section lieutenant, Patrol shift commander, Administrative Investigations Division sergeant, Special Events Unit sergeant, Patrol sergeant, Auto Theft Task Force member, Violent Offender Warrants Unit detective, and Community Policing Deputy. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 2000 to 2006. He has a bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is a graduate of the Florida Sheriff’s Association Commander’s Academy, the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute’s Florida Leadership Academy, and Florida State University’s Certified Public Manager program.
