Captain Matt Wroe

Captain Matt Wroe joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2005 and oversees the Criminal Investigations Division, which includes the Property Crimes Section, Crimes Against Persons Section, and Tactical Investigations Section. He has been on the STAR Team, and was a detective, corporal, and lieutenant in Narcotics, as well as a Patrol sergeant, Administrative Investigations Division sergeant, Community Policing sergeant, Detention Investigations Unit sergeant, and a Crimes Against Persons lieutenant. He earned his associate’s degree in criminal justice from Hillsborough Community College, and his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from Columbia Southern University. He served six years as an Army Reservist, achieving the rank of sergeant.
