Captain Dwayne Somers

Captain Dwayne Somers joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 1994 and oversees the Judicial Services Division which includes the Criminal Court Security Section, Civil Court Security and Enforcement Section and Court Supervision Section. The Judicial Services Division includes a variety of different units, such as the Court Processing Unit, Alternative Sentencing Unit, Sexual Predator and Offender Tracking Unit, Misdemeanor Probation Unit, and the Criminal and Civil Court Squads. He has been the Marine and Environmental Lands Unit sergeant, Court Security and Court Processing Unit lieutenant, and captain in the Special Operations Division. He has a bachelor’s degree from St. Leo University and is a graduate of Leadership Pinellas and the Florida Sheriffs Association Commanders Academy.
