PINELLAS COUNTY – On Monday, December 4, 2023, detectives assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Burglary & Pawn Unit arrested 18-year-old Anthony Chapa for numerous vehicle burglaries, criminal mischiefs, and an attempted residential burglary.
Detectives state in the early morning hours of November 23, 2023, Chapa and another male suspect entered the Landmark Nursery located at 853 East Lake Road in Tarpon Springs and damaged numerous vehicles, heavy machinery, a boat, plants, and garden décor. Detectives state there was approximately $53,000 of damage done by Chapa and the other male suspect.
Detectives advised Chapa and the other male suspect then went into the neighborhood to the east of Landmark Nursery off Forelock Road and began to break into numerous vehicles. At one point, both Chapa and the other suspect attempted to enter the screened enclosure of a residence.
Chapa was charged with three counts of Burglary to a Vehicle, two counts of Criminal Mischief, and Attempted Residential Burglary and was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
