The female victim is a 14 year old juvenile. Per Florida Statute 119.071, no further information will be released that would tend to identify the victims.

Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for one count of lewd and lascivious conduct, after he had inappropriate sexual contact with a 14 year old victim.

When:
The crime occurred March 1, 2019.

Where:
The crime occurred at a residence in Pinellas County.

Why/How:

Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Dunedin man for one count of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor.

According to detectives, their investigation began on July 24, 2019, after the parent of the 14-year-old victim notified the authorities.

When interviewed by detectives, the victim disclosed that 46 year old William James Rosenthal inappropriately touched her on multiple occasions. The victim described on one occasion, Rosenthal placed his hand under her clothing and touched her pubic area. The victim stated on another occasion, Rosenthal touched her vagina on the outside of her clothing. Detectives say that the victim was known to Rosenthal.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to corroborate the victim’s allegations.

On July, 26, 2019, detectives arrested Rosenthal for one count of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor.

Rosenthal was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

The investigation continues.
