Captain Mike Leiner

Captain Mike Leiner joined the sheriff's office in  1994 and commands the Youth Education and Administrative Services Division. Within the division is the School Crossing Guard Unit, the School Guardian Unit, the Habitual Offender Monitoring and Enforcement Task Force, the School Resource Deputy Unit, youth programs including Juvenile Diversion, Runaways, Public Safety Cadets Unit 900, the Teen Driver Challenge, Targeted Response Against Distracted Driving, the Graffiti Response Program, and the Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education program. He is also the agency liaison for the 10 central district contract cities. He has worked in Patrol, Field Training, Community Policing, the Violent Crimes Task Force, and Public Relations. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, is a certified Public Manager, and was part of the Inaugural FSA Commander’s Academy.
