1/14/2021 Topic: Funeral Service for Master Corporal Brian LaVigne Shannon Mercado	Our agency will be sending a contingent of members to Lutz, FL (Hillsborough County) for the funeral service of Master Corporal Brian LaVigne (Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office), who was killed in the line of duty on Monday (January 11, 2021). The contingent will leave on January 19, 2021 at 09:30 am, from the SAB. The service will be held at Idlewild Baptist Church (18333 Exciting Idlewild Boulevard, Lutz, FL) beginning at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service, members will be directed outside the church for a full honors presentation. The final procession will take place thereafter and face coverings will be required. 3/10/2021 Topic: Magli Fundraiser- Reel Adventures Kayak Fishing Tournament Shannon Mercado	To all sworn personnel: This is open to anyone, regardless of how high their rank is. Reel Adventure Kayak Fishing and Osprey Bay Outdoors is hosting a kayak fishing tournament to fundraise for the Magli family and would like to extend the invite to 17 deputies (sworn personnel) who are interested in participating. All equipment necessary to participate will be provided and the registration fee is waived. The 17 interested participants will be able to take home 2 fishing rods and reels, regardless if they win or lose the tournament. The deputy whose fish weighs in the heaviest will also get to take home a kayak. Information regarding the event is as follows: Friday, April 2nd at 7:00 PM Attending the captain’s meeting at Osprey Bay Outdoors (160 N Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL 33765) is required. Participants will be handed their registration card and will be given instructions for the following morning. The charity raffle will also begin that night to fundraise for the Magli family. Saturday, April 3rd at 7:00 AM Organizers have set up the Weedon Island Preserve area as the exclusive area for PCSO participants to fish at. Participants are not required to fish at Weedon Island, but are encouraged to do so. Weigh-in begins at Osprey Bay Outdoors (160 N Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL 33765) at 4:30 PM. To be in the running for the kayak, you must be at weigh-in that afternoon. Overall first place winner will be awarded $1,000. 3/11/2021 Topic: Closing of Clearwater Police substation Shannon Mercado	Effective March 25th, 2021 the Clearwater Police sub-station located at 2851 N. McMullen-Booth Road will be closing down for renovations for a period of 18 months. Please utilize this facility through March 24th as all property will be removed on March 25th by PCSO Evidence Technicians. Effective March 26th, 2021 a temporary facility will be opened at 2741 SR 580 for deputies to utilize for submitting general property and evidence. The facility is the old Clearwater library located just east of Clearwater Fire Station #50 at the intersection of Countryside Blvd and SR 580. Deputies can access the building through an entrance on the southeast corner of the building. Once inside, the property room will be the second door on the left. You will use your proxy card to gain access through both entrances. There will not be a bicycle rack outside, so bring all bicycles inside of the property room.
