All interested certified staff members, below the rank of Sergeant, are eligible to complete a memorandum and a Corrections Response Team Application. Note: Members who are selected for available openings will remain on the shift they are assigned to on the January 2022 Shift Bid; they will not be reassigned.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
· Must meet eligibility requirements pursuant to General Order 6-4a.
· Must be a non-probationary CJS currently assigned to the Department of Detention and Corrections.
· Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Criminal Justice Specialist in the Department of Detention and Corrections, exclusive of field training.
Members interested in applying for this position must complete the DDC Application and Data Sheet, available on SONET/Agency Forms, and submit through their chain of command to Sergeant Pauline Hawthorn. Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office who meet the minimum qualifications will have their name certified to the resulting eligibility register. · Must meet eligibility requirements pursuant to General Order 6-4a.
· Must be a corporal serving in a detention and corrections capacity.
· Total of four (4) years of experience as a certified member of the Department of Detention and Corrections, exclusive of field training.
Members interested in applying for this position must complete the DDC Application and Data Sheet, available on SONET/Agency Forms, and a memorandum of intent through their chain of command to Sergeant Pauline Hawthorn. Please include a small sampling of submitted DDCI reports (approximately 3). All forms should be submitted together as a packet. Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office who meet the minimum qualifications will have their name certified to the resulting eligibility register. The eligibility list will remain in effect for one year. Closing date for applications will be no later than March 11, 2022.

2022 DDC Hurricane Deployment Team

The Department of Detention and Corrections is currently constructing the 2022 DDC Hurricane Deployment Team roster. Any certified detention members (Sergeants and below) wishing to volunteer for this year’s team should submit a memorandum via chain of command to Lt. Freddie Hayes, Support Division, by March 25, 2022.

Please Note: Members of the DDC Hurricane Deployment Team are subject to activation within twenty-four (24) hours of notification, and deployment could last up to fourteen (14) days. In addition, potential candidates must ensure they are current with their Tetanus vaccinations.
