2/7/2024 Topic: Funeral Contingent For FHP Trooper Zachary Fink Shannon Mercado	PCSO will be sending a contingent of certified agency members to Port Saint Lucie for the Funeral Service of Trooper Zachary Fink of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), who was killed in the line of duty on Friday, February 2, 2024. The services are being held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 1100 hours at the Christ Fellowship Church located at 10250 SW Village Parkway, Port Saint Lucie, FL. Logistics and travel arrangements will be made by the Special Events Unit for those approved to attend. The uniform of the day will be the Class A - long sleeve uniform with a tie, campaign hat, and black mourning band. Members should handle all uniform needs prior to leaving. 2/9/2024 Topic: SWAT Operator Position Opening Shannon Mercado	The SWAT Team is conducting a selection process in order to fill operator position vacancies and establish an eligibility list. Tryouts will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 1300 hours. Tryouts will begin at the St. Petersburg Police Department’s Obstacle Course at 3200 22nd Street South. Following the obstacle course, candidates will respond to Bill Jackson’s pool at 9501 US Highway 19 North for a swim test. Once the swim test is complete, candidates will finish with firearms qualifications and shooting courses at the PCSO Firearms Range. All interested members must complete a memorandum through their chain of command to Major Nick Lazaris, Patrol Operations Bureau.
