Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center (GNAHEC) offers the Tobacco Free Florida AHEC “Group Quit” FREE virtual cessation classes through ZOOM. This virtual platform gives clients the opportunity to enroll in a FREE cessation course and participate virtually. After the virtual class, course materials and FREE nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum and/or lozenge) is mailed directly to the client.
For a listing of FREE virtual AHEC cessation classes please download the attached flyer which contains the May 2021 “Tools to Quit” class schedule or visit www.ahectobacco.com . If your site is interested in hosting a virtual or in-person tobacco cessation program, please let me know and we can work on scheduling.
Providers can directly refer patients to our FREE AHEC virtual cessation classes by filling out the attached AHEC provider referral form and returning it by fax or email. Clients will be contacted by a AHEC staff member to assess their readiness to quit and register them in an appropriate tobacco cessation course.
