Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center (GNAHEC) is offering the Tobacco Free Florida AHEC “Group Quit” FREE cessation classes virtually through ZOOM. This virtual platform gives clients the opportunity to enroll in a FREE cessation course and participate virtually from the comfort of their own homes. After the class, course materials and FREE nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum and/lozenge) is mailed directly to the client. The virtual cessation class is offered in two formats. “Tools to Quit” is a one-time 2 hour class and “Quit Smoking Now” is a multi-session 4 week class which meets for 1 hour a week.

If your site is interested in hosting a virtual or in-person tobacco cessation program, please let me know and we can work on scheduling.
Providers can directly refer patients to our FREE AHEC virtual cessation classes by filling out the attached AHEC provider referral form and returning it by fax or email. Clients will be contacted by a AHEC staff member to assess their readiness to quit and register them in an appropriate tobacco cessation course.
