Hi all! The Forensic Sciences Division is collecting donations in relation to a recent animal cruelty investigation. The donations will be taken over to Animal Control on 05/28/22. The donations will be going directly to the animals which FSD and Deputies helped recover during the investigation. The animals recovered include a mama and her week old puppies (5 in total) along with approximately 30 other dogs of varying ages (mostly young or puppies). We are looking to collect the following: - Beds
- Blankets
- Towels
- Sheets/bedding
- Dog food
- Dog treats (Milkbone and Peanut Butter only at this time)
- Toys (Kongs, super/power chewer toys etc...)
- Leashes/harnesses
If you have anything that that is not listed, please bring it on in! Also, if you do not have anything to bring in and still wish to donate we will happily purchase some things on your behalf ! Anything is appreciated…the animals will be held long-term at the Animal Control facility for the duration of the case or until Animal Control is able to legally take possession of the animals (which will then allow Animal Control to place them in to foster care). PLEASE HAVE ALL DONATIONS TO FSD BY 05/26/22. Please contact Specialists Danielle Kuhn or Cherie Johnson with Forensic Sciences Division directly with any questions at 727-464-6370. Thank you! :) edited by PCSONET\dkuhn on 5/20/2022 |

THANK YOU! Re: animal control donations

To all who donated, Thank you so much for all of your donations in reference to the recent animal abuse/neglect case worked by our agency. The amount of donations we received at FSD was overwhelming! We received donations from so many facets and units within PCSO; Communications, Fiscal, General Counsel, Narcotics, road Deputies, and Department of Corrections to name a few. So many more of you made donations and your support did not go unnoticed!! Special thanks to Sergeant Nestor, Deputy Gannon and Deputy Dellechiaie for your arrival of 3 additional carts worth of toys, food and other donations collected from PCSO. In total we collected:
- 500+lbs of dry dog/puppy food
- 100+lbs of Milkbone biscuits
- $1,000+ worth of dog toys (also submissions from BarkBox)
- 30+ dog beds (thank you to Angel for the handmade dog beds)
- 15+ blankets
- towels, sheets bedding (thank you to the DDC for the monetary donations as well as the towels/sheets)
- 15 large jars of peanut butter
- collars, leashes and harnesses
The shelter was so ecstatic with the amount of donations and also conveyed their heartfelt thank you's to everyone. The dogs (from the case) will be receiving the majority of the donations, however they will be able to allocate a good portion to all of the dogs in the shelter! The shelter allowed us some 'play time' and enrichment with the dogs. They are all doing very well...so many happy tails! Mom and babies are enjoying a quiet, air conditioned room to themselves - the puppies have already doubled in size and mom has started to put on weight. Animal Control informed us that they have officially filed to take legal custody - they hope to have approval by June 8. The majority of the dogs will go to specialized foster programs for continued evaluation before being adopted out. Again, thank you all so much!
Sincerely, Forensic Science Specialists Danielle Kuhn, Cherie Johnson and Jessica Mauck |
