Sun Coast PBA, SPCA Tampa Bay, and Tampa Bay Psychology Associates have a program called Cops Adopt, which allows members of PBA to apply before looking for a pet. The program covers $250 toward an adoption at SPCA Tampa Bay. It covers all pets, not just dogs and cats. Scientific research has shown that interacting with animals can have a profound impact on our well-being. The release of oxytocin, often referred to as the “love hormone,” increases when we pet or spend time with animals.
