Statement regarding pay proposal

James Campbell
  • On June 22, 2023, the Sun Coast PBA President, Executive Director/General Counsel, PBA staff members, and our internal PCSO PBA contract team met with the Sheriff to continue negotiations related to your Collective Bargaining Agreement (which governs your wages and other benefits).

  • We are aware that one of the proposed pay scales from an earlier point in the negotiation process has been circulating around the Agency.

  • This pay scale does not accurately reflect the current status of our negotiations. Contract negotiations are highly fluid. The PBA and the Sheriff have not reached a final agreement on the pay proposal.

  • All parties are committed to presenting you with the best possible Agreement for your consideration and ratification vote.

PBA Support for Member Deputy Ashley Hughes and Deputy Stiles.

James Campbell
Please join us in supporting PBA Member and PCSO Deputy Ashley Hughes as she makes funeral arrangements for her fiancé, Deputy Shane Stiles.

In great tragedy and loss, Deputy Hughes is pushing forward with all of her strength. If you feel moved to help Deputy Hughes shoulder the financial burden of planning the funeral, please join us by donating in any of the three ways listed below. Unless you would like to remain anonymous, we will keep a running list of donors’ names to provide to Deputy Hughes.

Every dollar you donate will go directly to Deputy Hughes. The PBA does not charge any administrative fees.
Here are the ways you can donate:

You may bring cash to the PBA office in an envelope marked “PCSO Deputy Hughes.” (No fees).
You can bring or mail a check to the PBA office. Please make your check payable to “Sun Coast Law Enforcement Charities, Inc.” and write “PCSO Deputy Hughes” in the memo line. (No fees).
You may donate online at www.suncoastpba.com/donate. Please write “PCSO Deputy Hughes” in the note area. (Please note that PayPal charges a 2.75% processing fee).
Our PBA Family is also holding all of Deputy Hughes and Deputy Stiles’s brothers and sisters in law enforcement in our hearts.
If you or someone you know needs help, we would be honored to anonymously connect you to a mental health practitioner who understands the burdens you carry as a law enforcement officer and as a human being. We are praying for each of you— those of you we know and those of you who are trying to do it alone. You don’t have to.

If you have any more questions, please call the PBA office at 727-532-1722 or contact one of the agency representatives.

Thank you again for your support.
