The SWAT Team is conducting a selection process in order to fill Operator position vacancies and to establish an eligibility list. Tryouts will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 0700 hours. Tryouts will begin at the St. Petersburg Police Department’s Obstacle Course, located at 3200 22nd Street South. Following the obstacle course, candidates will respond to the Bill Jackson’s pool, located at 9501 US Highway 19 North for a swim test. Once the swim test is complete, candidates will finish with firearms qualifications and shooting courses at the PCSO Firearms Range. All interested members must complete a memorandum through their chain of command to Major Nick Lazaris, Patrol Operations Bureau. Upon submitting the memorandum, the member shall contact Sergeant Diebold via e-mail, notifying him of the applicant’s interest in the position.
Closing date for applications will be no later than March 24, 2023.
